Sliding into midnight

Like loss multiplied by the

Circles of the infernos

Glass shattering like

Time bomb memory capsules

That trap

the past

like fly paper

Yellow

In the evening sky light

Amber,

on the sidewalk

Fireflies

And a fat finger of citrine

Left on the carpet by the little golden dog

And your courage

Screwed to the sticking place

And mine the mimic of

The forest fires

Raging to the western sea
